Our client lived in a homestead in a rural area in Sydney. She wanted to capture the style and detail of the property’s character and commissioned Impala to design and build a kitchen in keeping. The brief was white doors and plenty of display space to showcase objects she had collected over the years. The bench top was to be hardwearing and practical. Great attention to detail was given to the kitchen design with features such as timber lace above the oven cabinet and under spice drawers. The capping used above the cabinets was especially designed to suit the client’s tastes as was the canopy above the cooktop. Pilasters were incorporated as requested by our client. A buffet style unit incorporating lattice display doors and glass panelled doors sits as a feature at the far end of the kitchen. The client did not want stainless steel appliances in her kitchen, instead opting for white, creating a crisp, pure provincial style kitchen.
