We were privileged to work with this delightful family on their complete renovation of a Californian bungalow, located in Sydney’s leafy inner west.
While we may be bias the real standout in this classic, elegant home is the joinery. The attention to detail is evident as soon as you entry the home. From the classic kitchen with shaker doors and standout island bench, to an extensive master bedroom wall of wardrobes and stunning ensuite there isn’t much you couldn’t love about this home.
Upon entry you are greeted by a propose designed and built entryway storage. With cubbies for three school bags and hats. A beautiful, upholstered bench seat with under seat draws for shoes. It’s a wonderful example of how you can make a practical space look stylish and neat.
Walk through to the main living room you are greeted by expansive glass doors overlooking an inground pool. The kitchen is central to the family living with a gorgeous island bench. Small things take the space to a new level, such as the touches of gold brought in through the pennant lighting and elegant kitchen hardware.
This kitchen isn’t just about looks. Functionality was extremely important to this busy young family of five. With a large open butler’s pantry just off the kitchen where you can tuck your appliances out of sight but ensure daily used items can be easily accessed. The kitchen comes with all that you need for budding chef, with a Zip Tap, wine fridge, double ovens (one steam), large gas cook top plus loads of storage space and walk-in pantry. A bar was also create using the same colour and tones from the kitchen bringing cohesion and connecting the kitchen and the dining area.
Extensive joinery was used in the laundry, ensure the space was fully utilized and offering additional storage space. Once again, the joinery theme was repeated with shaker doors and similar hardware from the kitchen space. A gorgeous, patterned floor tile was used, giving a nod to this home’s heritage.
All four bathrooms were fully remolded. With custom built vanities in all. Each bathroom vanity is unique yet all focus on clean lines, with the same profile doors and stone tops, once again creating cohesion and demonstrating the benefits of custom vanities. We particularly love the powder room, while only small it shows you don’t need to compromise on style.
All four bedrooms have custom built wardrobes with the children’s rooms coming with built in study desks. We love the master bedroom, with a full wall of wardrobes plus dressing table. Beautiful shaker doors, with wall paneling and elegant handles brings such calmness and warmth to this large room.
Outside custom cabinetry has been used on the outdoor area. With built in sink, wine fridge and BBQ it’s a perfect place to cook, entertain and relax with family and friends.
This beautiful house showcases how custom joinery can take your home to the next level, creating cohesion and flow to your home.
