Our client was renovating a semi-detached cottage in one of Sydney’s inner western suburbs. The space was open plan and was a challenge for our kitchen designer to plan. The client did not want a traditional u-shaped kitchen, he wanted an island with a gallery style behind.
Impala designed a kitchen, concealing a large walk-in pantry behind the cooktop cabinets. To the right side is a tall cabinet concealing the fridge and freezer and to the left is a tall door behind which is access to the walk in pantry. A door-activated lighting facilitates vision with ample shelving for pantry staples and small appliances.
The client chose white satin polyurethane doors and wenge timber veneer with a pure white stone top. The glass splashback is a fine silver metallic. The colours work with the modern renovation, bringing a contemporary, crisp feel to the previous older style cottage.
