The client brief was for a contemporary kitchen with plenty of storage to minimise clutter, making the most of the compact space available.
To meet the brief, Impala designed a kitchen with a tall high gloss polyurethane corner pantry alongside a wall oven and microwave tower. The pantry has a stainless steel step and door activated light. Cabinets were built to the ceiling, finished with a bulkhead and cornice above. This maximised storage and reduces the need to clean above the cabinets. Two appliance cabinets were placed either side of the cook top to store small appliances and minimise any clutter on the bench top – an important client consideration. A book shelf with storage underneath was placed at the end of the kitchen bench to add interest to the design and provide practical use of the space.
An antique white high gloss polyurethane door was selected to be teamed with a contrasting black granite bench top. A sleek metallic painted glass splashback adds to the contemporary kitchen aesthetic.
