Family Home on Sydney’s Northern Shore

Living spaceOur client purchased an older style house in a prime location on Sydney’s north shore with plans to knock down and re-build a contemporary new home for their family. The house was to span several levels, provide ample living space for entertaining and relaxing and to take advantage of the site’s spectacular outlook. Impala was commissioned to do extensive custom joinery, including bathroom vanities, wardrobes, buffet units, laundry, cellar room, theatre unit, wet bar, decorative wall panels, internal entry doors, study joinery, bedside tables and lift panels. The client requested strong hues and high gloss finishes. The image shows a feature panels made by Impala. The tall dark high gloss timber veneer contrasts with the vertical blonde timber used overhead and matches the client’s table.

StudyThe joinery was to be functional but also striking in appearance. The photograph shows the high gloss study cabinets. The working bench needed to be practical and omit finger prints so Impala inlayed a leather work top with stainless steel trim. The cabinets below the sliding glass doors are filing cabinets.
Walk in robeThe client requested high gloss polyurethane doors as entry into the walk in robe and a lounge room. The client designed the door pattern and Impala made the doors and painted as per the client’s specifications.
The WardrobesImpala designed and constructed all wardrobes in the house. The wardrobes are detailed in metallic polyurethane. Each wardrobe was made to suit the occupant’s items, allowing for a combination of smaller items such as socks and T-shirts whilst also providing space for bags, business suits and hats.
Large BalconyThere is a large balcony for entertaining. The client wanted to install a built in BBQ with unique yet functional application. Impala made a cabinet with waterproof materials (the insides can be hosed out) and made decorative doors to match the client’s outdoor setting. The top is stainless steel.
Lounge RoomThe client requested a warm wall unit in a lounge room to complement the natural aspect of the house. Impala designed a contemporary unit to allow lots of storage . The unit appears to be floating and has finger pulls with channels.
BuffetConstructed out of high gloss timber veneer, the wine cellar allows for plenty of storage and makes for a unique and practical space. The back wall has smoked mirror.
