Our client owned a holiday home on the waterfront at Sydney’s Northern Beaches for over 25 years. The plan was to knock down the current old home and build a new contemporary house, with plenty of room for entertaining and allowing the glorious outlook to it’s full advantage. Impala was commissioned to do whole house joinery, including the kitchen, bathroom vanities, all wardrobes, side buffet units, laundry, hallway storage and entertainment unit.
The client requested neutral hues but not white, something contemporary and sleek. The kitchen features a gorgeous yet practical island unit with storage at either end. The doors are custom colour polyurethane with finger pulls. The kitchen looks to be floating with mirrored kick boards.
The island houses a bar fridge where the dining table is situated. Constructed out of custom polyurethane and stone tops, the buffet units allow for plenty of storage and make unique display units. The cabinets are wall mounted to give individuality whilst still complimenting the adjacent kitchen style.
The entertainment unit was constructed using wave board reflecting the home’s the rippled water view. The cabinets either side of the TV allow for ample storage for electrical items whilst the draw systems below house DVD’s.
Impala designed and constructed all wardrobes in the house. The wardrobes are detailed in polyurethane and lamiwood. Each wardrobe was made to suit the occupant’s items, allowing for a combination of smaller items such as socks and T-shirts whilst also providing space for bags, business suits and hats.
There is a long hallway upon entry into the home. The client wanted to utilise this space for storage as well as concealing a server for electrical wiring and a laundry. Impala constructed floor to ceiling doors to match wall colour. The doors open through touch catches so no handles are visible, making the doors disappear into the wall.
The client requested sleek bathroom designs, enabling lots of storage to conceal items when visitors stay over and allowing ease of cleaning. To this end, Impala designed custom shaving cabinets and vanity units from wall to wall, minimising awkward spaces to clean and maximising storage.
