Inner West House

impalagladesville6821

Impala’s client was building a new home on the water in Sydney’s inner west. The client commissioned Impala to design joinery throughout the house, including the kitchen, partitioning walls, study desks, vanities, fireplace, entertainment areas and wardrobes. The Client requested a rhythmic design flow throughout the home with aesthetic integrity while being environmentally savvy. To this end, all joinery body products were manufactured from sustainably managed forests.

Joinery pieces of note:

1. The timber veneer centrepiece which is an architectural sculpture and focal point in the large open plan kitchen. It is used to zone the kitchen from the formal spaces in lieu of standard gyprock walls.
2. The study desk which also doubles as a privacy screen for a loft bedroom, using the small space wisely.
3. The wardrobes are generous and luxurious, matching the bedroom entry door and flowing from the bedside cabinets seamlessly into the ensuite, almost blending into the walls.

The joinery designs contain elements of modernity infused by nature, through the lavish use of glossy, luxurious surfaces and a touch of marble for sheer luxury.

This project is to be featured in an upcoming edition of Home Beautiful magazine.
